Easter at Crossings

Celebrate Holy Week and Easter at Crossings!

March 30 & 31

Easter

Easter (or Resurrection Sunday) is the annual reminder of the sacrifices Jesus made on behalf of mankind and a celebration of God's love and grace. Easter comes on the heels of the Lenten season—a time to slow down and reflect on humanity's overwhelming need for forgiveness—and is a reminder of the hope we have because of Jesus. After three days in the grave, Jesus rose from the dead, conquering death and displaying his power over all the destructive forces in our lives. Because Jesus, the perfect lamb, was slain, we who acknowledge him as our savior receive forgiveness for our sins. Because he rose from the dead three days later, we also conquer death and the power of sin in our lives. Come celebrate the freedom and hope we have through Jesus at a Crossings Easter service!

Holy Week

Holy Week is designed to walk you through Jesus' last days—his entry into Jerusalem, the last supper, his trial, and crucifixion—before the celebration of his triumphant resurrection on Easter.

Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday commemorates the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, which occurred several days before his death. As he rode into the city on a donkey, the people of Jerusalem waved palm branches, saying, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the King of Israel” (John 12:13).

During these services, Crossings Kids will wave palm branches and parade through the adult worship services.

5 Days of Prayer

Life moves fast and we all need a moment to reset, recharge, and refocus our attention on what matters most. During Holy Week this year, the Crossings OKC Chapel will be open during the lunch hours for a come-and-go time of worship, personal prayer, and corporate prayer where you can bring your needs to God, reflect on the love of Jesus, and prepare your heart and mind for Easter.

Maundy Thursday

On Maundy Thursday, also known as Holy Thursday, the emphasis is on the Last Supper—a Passover meal Jesus shared with his disciples the night before his death.

This service includes a message from Pastor Terry Feix and taking part in communion. Maundy Thursday is an opportunity to reflect on Jesus' last instructions to his disciples leading up to Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
